CASTING ACRYLIC EXPERT

YG BulletShield™ Series

Bullet-Resistant Acrylic

High-clarity protective material tested under CNS 14998 IIA ballistic standards

  • Thickness 14.5 mm
  • CNS 14998 (2006) IIA
  • NIJ 0108.01 IIA
  • High-molecular-weight cast PMMA

The Yng Guang BulletShield™ acrylic panel is manufactured using high-molecular-weight cast PMMA.
At a thickness of 14.5 mm, it has successfully passed the CNS 14998 (2006) Type IIA .357 Magnum JSP ballistic test, equivalent to the NIJ 0108.01 IIA protection level.

Unlike conventional multi-layer bullet-resistant glass or laminated polycarbonate sheets,
YG BulletShield™ combines effective ballistic protection with high optical transparency (≈92%), lightweight design, and excellent workability.
It is ideal for bank teller counters, security windows, vehicle partitions, and display enclosures where both protection and visual clarity are essential.

*Ballistic performance may vary depending on bullet type, velocity, angle, temperature, and installation method. For critical applications, on-site verification and third-party testing are strongly recommended.

Key Features

  • 🛡️ Certified Ballistic Protection
Reliable safety verified through live-fire testing: rigorously tested under CNS 14998 (2006) IIA with .357 Magnum JSP rounds, and compliant with
    NIJ 0108.01 IIA ballistic standards.
  • 💎 Exceptional Optical Clarity
True visual transparency without distortion: features outstanding optical quality with 92% light transmittance (ASTM D1003 certified), ensuring both protection and clear visibility.
  • ⚖️ Lightweight & Easy Installation
Structural efficiency and cost optimization: with a density of only 1.19 g/cm³, it is significantly lighter than traditional bulletproof glass,
reducing structural load, simplifying installation, and cutting project costs.
  • ☀️ Weather-Resistant Durability
Long-lasting outdoor performance: formulated with specialized UV-stabilizers and anti-oxidation additives to maintain clarity and strength even after prolonged exposure, extending service life and reliability.
  • 🧪 Superior Chemical Resistance
Built for durability and ease of maintenance: in addition to its strength and weatherability, the material resists chemical attack and supports diverse machining and cleaning applications in demanding environments.

Glass vs. PC vs. Acrylic

Striking the perfect balance among clarity × weight × ballistic strength, the YG BulletShield™ bulletproof acrylic panel offers a superior alternative to both glass and polycarbonate.

Property YG Bulletproof Acrylic Panel Bulletproof Glass Bulletproof PC (Polycarbonate)
Transparency ★★★★★ (≈92%, colorless, no tint) ★★★★ (≈85–88%, slight green hue) ★★★ (≈80–86%, bluish/yellowish tone)
Weight ~50% lighter than glass, easy to install Heavy; high structural load Lighter but prone to heat deformation
Scratch Resistance / Surface Hardness ★★★★ (high hardness cast surface) ★★★★★ (excellent) ★★ (soft surface, requires hard coating)
Ballistic Rating IIA (single 14.5 mm layer) III–IV (multi-layer laminated18~20mm) IIA–III-A (multi-layer composite15mm)
Fabrication Easy (CNC cutting, thermoforming, bonding) Difficult Heat forming causes whitening; limited adhesion
Weatherability Excellent (anti-yellowing formulation) Excellent Poor (aging and yellowing over time)
Price Range Medium (high cost-performance ratio) High Medium-high

Conclusion:
Bulletproof glass is heavy, and bulletproof PC tends to yellow over time — the YG BulletShield™ bulletproof acrylic panel combines clarity, aesthetics, protection, and design flexibility in one solution.
